MEDIA RELEASE - IMRE and Cima NanoTech to develop materials for next generation transparent conductors
IMRE and Cima Nanotech are jointly working on new and improved transparent conductors, which basically allow light to pass through but are also electrically conductive, hence their application in displays and organic solar cells. Current transparent conductors use materials like indium tin oxide (ITO) which is very expensive. Conventional ITO and other oxides in today’s solar cells, OLEDs, flat panel TVs, and touchscreen displays also have limitations in conductivity and flexibility. The new materials and processes that IMRE and Cima are developing will potentially enable faster response touch screens for large flexible displays and reduce production cost.
